Private and corporate events and festivals have become an increasing part of The Dirt Deacons schedule of shows, and it’s no big secret why. The members play every show — big or small — with the same passion. They engage audiences with a set list loaded with music people can’t help but love, and then they “step on the gas”. It is a challenge to go to The Dirt Deacons show and sit still.

In many cases you might hear two bands cover a song and they sound relatively similar. That is not the case with The Dirt Deacons. Songs everyone knows and loves are branded with The Dirt Deacons unique intensity: thundering percussion, rip-roaring bass, soaring guitar and fierce vocals are punctuated with subtle harmonies and hushed moments that draw people in for the next explosion of excitement that keeps them on their feet. You simply won’t find a better way to keep your guests thoroughly entertained.

Here’s a few important things to consider when hiring the band for your event:

Power Requirements

The Dirt Deacons need power accessible (within 50 feet of the stage) to a minimum of 3 separate 20-amp circuits. For additional questions or inquiries on power needs call Keith at 601.331.8538

Stage 

The Dirt Deacons have crammed their equipment on some tiny stages, and they’ve performed on large venue and festival stages with plenty of room to roam. The ideal setting is a stage 24-feet by 16-feet. If outdoors, it is best that the stage be covered to give sound equipment and the band members protection from weather conditions. The band will work to overcome weather delays, but too much rain doesn’t mix well with sound equipment or musical instruments. The more that can be done to minimize the challenges the better. 

It is not uncommon for the band to take a section of a room and set up on the floor for smaller private shows, however for the best experience for your guests, a stage with a minimum height of 12-inches works best. This allows everyone at your event to see the band’s performance, and it provides a natural safety barrier so guests in front are less likely to stumble into sound equipment. If you are renting a venue then stage options will likely be a part of your agreement. In other cases, party and event rental businesses in your area will have options to choose from, and will provide you with delivery and setup.

Festival Shows and Third Party Sound

The Dirt Deacons set list is easily tailored to festivals, so it’s no wonder the band plays more of these shows every year. Festival shows, and in some instances corporate events, will have a third party sound company handling production. The Dirt Deacons set up is straight-forward. Rider

The Dirt Deacons are four professional musicians with years of experience who love what they do. The band members are easy to work with to help you put together an event that your guests will remember for a long-time.

While none of the following items are strict requirements, here are a few things you should consider providing:

Water: Lot’s of it. This is a high energy show.

Privacy: A quiet air-conditioned room for changing clothes, regrouping and relaxing between sets, and easy access to a bathroom.

Towels: 6 to 8 small cloth towels. These guys work hard for you and they work up a sweat doing it.

Snacks:  A deli tray and other light snacks for the band and crew (Don’t worry, nothing as dramatic as removing all brown M&M’s).

Beer and Other Adult Beverages: We won’t drink you out of house and home, but if you and your guests are going to have a few we might like to join you. 

Overnight Accommodations: Depending upon how far band-members have to travel and the time of the show, there may be a request for overnight accommodations.
